The role

The candidate is key in delivering sustainable aviation business development by increasing routes, capacity and traffic at the airport.  The objective is to maximize Aeronautical Revenues for Salvador Bahia Airport by developing the number of offered seats through the development of new and existing routes. The candidate must be passionate and interested in the long-term success of the airport and thrives in a business development role. The role requires strong airline business insights in identifying, analysing, attracting new route development opportunities, increasing the existing route network, developing tourism products and partnerships.

Position and salary depending on profile and experience.

Key missions of the position

- Develop strategies focused on sustainable growth through Route Development

- Prioritize route development opportunities

- Represent the Salvador Bahia Airports team internally and externally at senior levels

- Control market studies, business cases and presentations

- Interpret, analyse data and determine how data should be presented to airlines

- Strong use of insights and data-driven decision making

- Develop and present Business cases for air service development, including economic & investment trends

- Arrange meetings with current and prospect Airlines independently

- Structuring and negotiating airlines or TO deals

- Ability to identify risks and challenges which could impede growth projects

- Build, cultivate a 5* relationship with airline partners

- Take the necessary steps to ensure the load factors are kept under strict monitoring

- Attend and represent Salvador Bahia Airport at route development events

- Be a global ambassador of Salvador and Bahia as a market and a destination

- Support relationship development with key local partners

- Understand airport operation and act as liaison with the Ops team to facilitate airline implementation and/or operation

- Input into detailed Traffic forecast and Traffic budget preparation inputs

The role requires excellent interpersonal and analytical skills, the Aviation Business Development manager is advising closely the Management team at Salvador Bahia Airport.

The role will require regular national and international travels.

Profil :

The Person Skills and Experience:

With demonstrable capability to take the lead on air service development functions, the candidate will have ideally held a similar role in an airport organization, in an international airline or in aviation consulting, with a solid understanding of Route Development, Network Planning, Scheduling or Revenue Management functions.

Well respected professional, you can demonstrate:

· Strong leadership skills and the ability to self-manage initiatives

· Ability to lead a small, focused team and/or project teams

· Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills in building and maintaining customer relationships

· Proven track record in business development and executing commercial deals

· The confidence and ability to present to management or c-level executives

· Extremely proactive, self-starter with strong organizational skills

· Proficiency in spoken and written English

· A good understanding of airline strategy in the area of network planning and route development

· A thorough understanding of the competitive landscape, industry developments and trends that could impact new route or traffic development opportunities

· Advanced presentation skills – i.e. in PowerPoint – to developing clear and thorough internal and external business cases related to new routes and traffic development projects

· Developed marketing skills to presenting information in a clear and appealing manner to airline clients and related parties

· Good analytical skills to analyse and interpret internal and industry data relating to aviation stats (airports stats, MIDT or BSP, airline schedules, macro-economic indicators)

· Capable of managing data analysis using Excel and/or Access database and/or Dashboarding solutions

· A proven experience of negotiating airline / airport routes, and incentive contracts
